Before starting any nail care, always remove Old Polish. Soak a cotton pad in MAVALA Nail Polish Remover and hold firmly against each nail for a few seconds. Wipe off with a single stroke. Repeat until all traces of polish are gone. To get rid of all those pesky spots of nail polish around the cuticles, use a cotton-wrapped cuticle stick dipped in remover

Thoroughly wash your hands and nails with soap and water, using a soft nail brush to clean under the nails. Dry completely. While we may need to cut, we will definitely need to shape and dry nails are essential for filing.

Positioning and movement are everything; always hold the board at a slight angle, just under the nail, and file with long, light strokes from the outer edge of your nail to the centre. Always file in one direction only, from the side towards the centre, to effectively seal the nail’s edge. Using a standard emery board or nail file in a back-and-forth “sawing” motion can damage your nails as it creates friction and heat, leading to microscopic tears and fraying of the nail’s keratin layers. Make sure not to over-file the sides to keep your nails strong. To finish, use small vertical strokes with the tip of the emery board, moving from bottom to top and top to bottom, to smooth out any rough spots and seal the nail layers.
